coronavirus update

Gradual reopening from 21 May

Information about our gradual re-opening from Thursday 21st May

To all clients:

The Clinic has been closed for all but urgent and emergency appointments following advice issued by our regulatory authorities. We are now pleased to announce that:

From Thursday 21st of May we can begin to welcome clients back to the clinic.

Initially we will continue to follow a telephone triage procedure to assess your eligibility for an appointment. This approach is based on guidance from our governing body, The College of Podiatry and is aimed at helping to reduce the risk of Coronavirus spreading.

The general criteria for conditions that we can now treat include:

  • If you have painful corns, large areas of painful callus or problematic ingrowing toenails which might lead to more serious foot problems if left untreated.
  • If you are a Key-worker with foot pain or discomfort that is affecting your ability to work.
  • Urgent or Emergency foot problems.

Adaptations we have made to the clinic:

We have made a number of changes to the clinic in order to promote social distancing and enhanced infection control measures to help keep you safe. Appointment times have been staggered so that only one patient can be in the waiting area at one time. Unfortunately we will not be able to respond to walk in enquiries, (the door will be locked), so we ask that you phone instead. We will be wearing appropriate PPE during the appointment and have purchased a perspex screen which will sit between patient and podiatrist. Additional cleaning will take place between appointments.

Treatments we cannot provide at present:

  • General nail cutting in the absence of other problems
  • Swift Microwave Therapy for Verrucae
  • Lacuna for fungal nails
  • Routine care in Care/Nursing Homes

To book an appointment please telephone the clinic on 01274 532 953. If we are unavailable please leave a message and we will return your call as soon as possible. We will be happy to discuss your foot health needs and appointment availability. We will also advise you on the changes made to the clinic and the appointment system.

Richard and Tricia look forward to welcoming you back to the clinic in the near future.
